Lilian Trifena, PMHNP-BC, believes that mental health is an essential part of overall well-being and that everyone deserves to feel heard, respected, and understood.
Lilian began her nursing career after graduating from Hesston College School of Nursing in 2019. She worked primarily in acute care, including progressive care and medical-surgical settings, caring for patients from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of health concerns. Throughout her nursing career, she found herself especially drawn to the moments when she could slow down, listen, and support patients through what they were experiencing emotionally.
Recognizing the close connection between mental and physical health, Lilian pursued advanced training in psychiatric mental health nursing at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, earning her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing in 2024. During her graduate training, she gained experience in psychiatric settings, further developing her understanding of mental health assessment, treatment, and patient-centered care.
Since then, Lilian has worked in outpatient psychiatry, providing psychiatric medication management along with supportive, patient-centered care. She takes a collaborative approach, considering each patient's goals, preferences, and individual circumstances when developing a treatment plan.
In her free time, Lilian enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing with her golden retriever, trying new foods, and working on creative projects.
